This sector covers personal services, membership organisations, repair businesses and a range of other service providers that do not fit the larger categories. Most are small, local businesses with modest margins and a close dependence on local demand.

With little financial buffer, these businesses are exposed to rising costs, a dip in local trade or the loss of a key contract. Insolvencies here are usually small in scale but can come quickly when cash is tight.
